During the spring and summer season, the Central Park Conservancy hosted three of it’s signature annual fundraisers in support of their mission.
On May 1st, the Women’s Committee and Board of Trustees of the Central Park Conservancy hosted the 37th Annual Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon in Central Park’s Conservatory Garden. Women’s Committee President Alexia Leuschen was joined by Central Park Conservancy President & CEO Elizabeth W. Smith, as well as Luncheon Co-Chairs Sharon Jacob, Sharon Teles, Elaine Textor, and Cynthia Wagner as they greeted over 1,200 supporters. The event raised $4 million, which will be used towards the management and maintenance of Central Park.
A few weeks later over 1,200 guests gathered at Central Park’s Heckscher Playground on May 22nd to support the Playground Partners of the Women’s Committee of the Central Park Conservancy, raising funds for the daily care and maintenance of the Park’s 21 playgrounds. Today Show co-anchor, author, and journalist Jenna Bush Hager and husband Henry Hager served as the 2019 Honorary Chairs.
On June 5th, the Central Park Conservancy kicked off summer in Central Park with its annual Taste of Summer benefit at the Bethesda Terrace, where over 800 friends of the Conservancy gathered to enjoy an evening of dancing, delectable food, and seasonal cocktails. Chef David Burtka served as the event’s culinary chair. Notable attendees included Debra and Leon Black, Chef Todd English, Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Harrison, Gillian Hearst, and Sharon and Bill Jacob. With the help of Macquarie, the event’s presenting sponsor, the benefit raised $900,000.
