From June 19-26, 2017, Brookfield Place New York celebrated New York City Pride Week with a spirited and interactive 3D installation titled, the #LoveIs Letters. Located on the waterfront terrace, hedges were shaped into life-size letters covered with multicolored silk flowers spelling out, #LOVEIS. Throughout the duration of the installation, Brookfield Place made a donation to the Hetrick-Martin Institute for every Instagram post that tagged #LOVEIS and @BrookfieldPLNY and included what love means to them.
Kicking off the launch of the letters, Brookfield Place held a silent auction Monday, June 19th, where guests had a chance to bid on an assortment of luxury items from Brookfield Place vendors. Guests were able to enjoy the view of the Hudson River on the Terrace, and small plates from Le District, Dos Toros, and P.J. Clarke’s. A portion of proceeds from the event and 100% of the silent auction fundraising were donated towards Hetrick-Martin’s mission to support LGBTQ youth.
